Candidate for School Trustee
Keeping students at the centre of the conversation.
I’m running for School Trustee because I care about our schools, our community and the experience our kids have growing up here in North Vancouver.
About me
I’ve spent years volunteering in our schools, including serving as PAC Chair at Westview Elementary and previously as a Big Sister. I’ve had the opportunity to work with parents, teachers, principals and district staff. I’ve seen how much can be accomplished when people listen to each other and work toward a common goal.
My career as a mortgage broker has also shaped how I approach problems. Every day I help people navigate complicated decisions. I listen to what matters to them, explain their options and help them find solutions that work. I’ve learned to ask questions, look at the details and take responsibility for the decisions I make.
I don’t have all the answers. I know that good decisions start with listening to different perspectives, finding common ground and keeping students at the centre of the conversation.
I would be honoured to bring that approach to the Board. I want to be a thoughtful voice for our community and help ensure our decisions reflect what matters most to our students and families.
How I work
Listening first
Good decisions start with listening to different perspectives and finding common ground, not with arriving at the table already certain.
Rooted in our schools
Years of volunteering, including as PAC Chair at Westview Elementary, working alongside parents, teachers, principals and district staff.
Willing to own the call
A career spent helping people through complicated decisions taught me to ask questions, look at the details, and take responsibility for the choices I make.
